A unique project was taken up by aastha after an inspiring experience of a survivor. Patients suffering from lymphedema ( swelling of arm) following the breast cancer operation were given lessons in Dhol Tasha – a traditional percussion instrument used in the processions in Maharashtra.
About 25 lymphedema patients participated.
In a few weeks, surprising results were found.
This activity also bagged a prize for innovative projects in the National ganeshotsav competition.
We plan to continue this activity for the benefit of future patients.
Also we are planning to conduct a clinical trial in near future.
